Words I read that touched me
“If I were to hold just one wish for humanity, it is that we remember our innate capacity to see each other beyond all differences. Such a shift in awareness might resolve many of the towering predicaments of this age and of our own lives.”
Nic Askew — Soul Biographies https://soulbiographies.com/about
I’ve been getting Nic Askew’s Soul Biography emails since 2005 when they were called, and arrived promptly at, “Monday 9am” with the instruction to “Switch Off The World. Play Full Screen. Use Headphones. Do Not Attempt If Distracted.” And I did. For years. And I wondered and marvelled at the way Nic created this feeling: “Imagine A Profoundly Connected World In Which We Are Able To See And Experience Others Beyond All Differences.”
The curated collection of films is worth exploring.
Then this …
“The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.” — David W. Orr
