“If we approach everything asking ‘what’s best for me?’ we get division. If we approach it asking ‘what’s best for all of us?’ we get a different outcome.”
by Jon Alexander of The New Citizen Project

I’m a big fan of The New Citizen Project and here, one of its founders Jon Alexander delivers the Opening Provocation at the Athens Democracy Forum.

This is a major international event, with speakers including Yuval Noah Harari (author of Sapiens and Homo Deus), Anand Giridharadas (author of Winners Take All), Brad Smith (President of Microsoft), and Taiwanese Digital Minister Audrey Tang.

St Mary’s Church, site of the Putney Debates, is the backdrop.

“Put more power in more people’s hands.”

This is the work of a decade and more boiled down to 15 minutes.
